What to Expect When I Work Magic for You: Inside the Vodou Spiritism Process

What to Expect When I Work Magic for You: Inside the Vodou Spiritism Process

By Priestess Shoshana
Founder, Spiritual Teachers Voodoo

When someone comes to me asking for spiritual help, I often remind them gently but firmly—you’re not just buying a candle. You are stepping into a sacred covenant with ancient forces, guided through me by the Mysteries, known in Vodou as the Lwa. This is not wish-making, nor is it superstition. It is ancestral science, precise spiritual surgery, and a divine collaboration.

Let me take you behind the scenes—so you can understand exactly what happens when I do spiritual work on your behalf. I’ll also share what you can expect, how to prepare, and what makes working with me deeply different from anything else you’ve encountered.

1. What I Do (and Don’t Do)

When I take your case, I am not simply performing a ritual—I am invoking universal law, spiritual lineage, and personal responsibility. Here’s what I do:

  • Conduct a reading to consult the spirits and assess if I can take your case. Not every request is granted.
  • Enter into a ceremonial agreement with the appropriate Lwa or Mystery to advocate on your behalf.
  • Prepare bespoke rituals, baths, offerings, and chants, based on your exact spiritual condition and the spirits’ guidance.
  • Perform cleansings, fire work, ancestral offerings, or spirit petitions for healing, clarity, movement, or change.
  • Remain in ongoing prayer, song, or trance ceremony—often fasting and meditating for days at a time—on your behalf.

What I don’t do is light a candle and forget you. I’m not a fast-food spellcaster, and this is not a vending machine. If that’s what you’re looking for, I’m not your priestess.

2. What the Mystery Does

The Mystery—the Lwa, the Spirits, the Divine—do not serve us blindly. They serve truth, karma, balance, and spiritual evolution.

Once I make your petition, the Mystery will:

  • Assess your sincerity and readiness for change. They see the truth, not the story we tell.
  • Offer signs and signals through dreams, emotion, and events in your life—this is part of the confirmation process.
  • Accept or deny the request, based on divine law and what is in your soul’s best interest.
  • If accepted, they begin working through the rituals to open doors, heal patterns, or protect your path.
  • Guide you (and me) through a journey—not just a fix. This journey often includes inner transformation, which is part of the actual “spell.”

3. What You Will Experience

Every person is different, but when I work for you, expect:

  • Cleansing: Emotional upheaval, tears, release, and a sense of inner reset—this is normal. You’re being scrubbed spiritually.
  • Synchronicity: Unexpected messages, opportunities, or meetings that feel “fated.” This is the Mystery responding.
  • Instruction: You will often be asked to participate—by bathing, praying, preparing an altar, or keeping spiritual discipline.
  • Accountability: You will be held to the standard of what you said you wanted. If you asked for love, but continue to sabotage it, the work will stop.

This is a two-way road. Magic requires participation—not just from me, but from you.

4. My Track Record

Let me be clear: I do not promise outcomes—I deliver opportunities. But my clients have seen:

  • Estranged relationships healed after years of silence.
  • Legal cases resolved in their favor against overwhelming odds.
  • Health emergencies turned around with the grace of the spirits.
  • Businesses reborn, lovers returned, trauma lifted, and ancestral peace restored.

Over my 20+ years in this work, I’ve taken thousands of cases—with an extremely high success rate, not because I’m a magician, but because I’m honest about what the spirits will and won’t allow. My integrity is the reason my work is effective.

5. Setting Boundaries: What You Need to Know

Working with me is not transactional. It’s a spiritual commitment. Therefore:

  • do not promise specific results. I promise honest work, real ceremony, and clear guidance.
  • You must be ready to follow directions—not selectively. If the spirit says fast for 3 days, you must fast.
  • If you’re trying to control or force someone’s will, this is not the tradition for you. Vodou does not do dark coercion. We work in light, with justice and compassion.
  • do not chase clients for updates. You must stay connected and take initiative to follow the work.
  • I do not offer “quick fixes.” Real transformation is holy work, not magic tricks.

6. What Makes Us Different at Spiritual Teachers Voodoo

At Spiritual Teachers Voodoo, our magic is rooted in:

  • Initiated lineage, not pop culture.
  • Ethical practice, not manipulation.
  • Sacred contracts, not paid performances.
  • Generational healing, not shortcuts.

You are not alone—we walk with you, teach you, and protect you through each stage. We involve you in the healing. This is a sacred collaboration between you, me, and the Lwa. That’s why our work has lasting results, deep transformation, and ancestral grace behind it.

How to Prepare Yourself to Receive Vodou Work

If you are thinking of receiving Vodou work through me, please take these steps:

  1. Book a Reading – This is how we determine what the spirit sees for you.
  2. Be Honest – Come with your real story. The spirits already know the truth.
  3. Be Ready to Participate – This includes spiritual hygiene, ritual baths, fasting, and prayer.
  4. Stay Humble – Magic moves faster through humility than through control.
  5. Understand the Timeline – Spiritual change is deep and real, not instant gratification.

Final Thoughts: Real Magic is Spiritual Leadership

When I work magic for you, I carry you in my prayers, my altar, and my body. The spirits move through my breath, my dreams, and my songs to meet you where you are and lift you higher.

This is not candlework—it is covenant work. If you’re ready, I’m ready. But be clear: the path we walk together is ancient, sacred, and alive with fire.

When people reach out to me for magical work, they often imagine it’s as simple as lighting a candle or saying a prayer. But working with me—and through me, the Mysteries of Vodou—is a sacred act that involves ceremony, commitment, and spiritual accountability.

Let me be clear from the beginning: I don’t just perform rituals—I walk with you. I hold your name in my spirit. I cry, fast, sing, and call your blessings into being with everything I’ve got. That’s why I can only take on a limited number of clients at a time. When I accept your case, I go all in. You’re not a file or an order. You are a soul in sacred contract, and I treat that with the deepest reverence.

If you’re looking for true transformation—not just a result, but a rebirth—then you’ve found your priestess.
